Getting Started with Your Ledger Device
Welcome to the start of your secure cryptocurrency journey! Follow these steps to set up your new Ledger hardware wallet.
Unbox your device: Carefully unbox your Ledger device and make sure it includes a Ledger hardware wallet, a USB cable, recovery sheets, and a welcome guide.
Download Ledger Live: Visit ledger.com/ledger-live/download to download the Ledger Live app on your computer or mobile device. Ledger Live is the companion app for your Ledger hardware wallet, allowing you to manage your cryptocurrency securely.
Connect and initialize your device: Connect your Ledger device to your computer using the USB cable. Follow the on-screen instructions on the device and Ledger Live to safely initialize it. Choose a PIN and write down the recovery phrase on the provided recovery sheet.
Install cryptocurrency applications: Using Ledger Live, browse and install applications on your Ledger device for the cryptocurrencies you wish to manage. Each cryptocurrency requires a specific app to manage.
Add accounts to Ledger Live: After installing the cryptocurrency applications, add accounts in Ledger Live to manage your assets. Click on the “+ Add account” button and follow the prompts.
Receive crypto: To receive cryptocurrency, select the account you want to receive the funds in Ledger Live, click on “Receive,” and follow the instructions. Make sure to double-check the address on your Ledger device's screen.
Send crypto: To send cryptocurrency, choose the account you want to send from in Ledger Live, click on “Send,” and follow the instructions. Always verify transaction details on your Ledger device before confirming.
